VICKY FOODS LAYS THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR ITS PLANT IN FRANCE

·         This facility will involve an investment of approximately €80 million and will initially focus on the production of pastry and bakery products.

·         The new facilities, whose construction works will commence immediately, will cover an area of over 22,900 square meters.

·         With this project, Vicky Foods aims to strengthen its presence in the French market, enhance competitiveness, and provide better service to its customers.

Vicky Foods laid the foundation stone for its production plant in France this morning, an ambitious project with an investment of €79.5 million, intended to supply the French market and neighbouring regions such as Germany, Switzerland, Benelux, and Northern Italy.

The international food holding company plans to start construction on its first industrial warehouse in France, which will be dedicated to bakery and pastry production, in March of this year and complete it by the summer of 2024. Finally, the plant is expected to be operational in the last quarter of the same year.

The new facility, initially covering a total area of 22,900 square meters out of a total of 75,000 square meters of constructible space, is located in the municipality of Fragnes-La Loyère, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, a strategically located area in terms of logistics and infrastructure that will enable the group to be more competitive and offer better service to its customers. The warehouse will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and 30% of the constructed area will have photovoltaic panels for self-consumption. Additionally, it will consist of a production workshop spanning 14,300 square meters, two warehouses for raw materials and finished products, and office space. The company envisions a gradual expansion of the factory in line with the group's growth in these markets.

During the event, Rafael Juan, CEO of Vicky Foods, stated, "This is the most ambitious value creation project that our family company has undertaken since its founding in 1952." He added, "Vicky Foods has chosen Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and more specifically Grand Chalon for its strategic location in Europe, proximity to raw material supply sources, a single interlocutor, the presence of a favorable economic environment for our development, and the strong local industrial culture." The event also featured the presence of numerous regional and local authorities, institutional representatives, and business sector representatives from the region.

Vicky Foods plans to initially hire 80 people for the new production plant and an additional 40 at the end of the first phase. In subsequent stages, hiring could exceed 250 people as the factory's production infrastructure expands.

With this project, the company continues its expansion plan with the goal of becoming a leading group in the global food sector. Within this internationalization plan, France has been one of the key countries for over 25 years due to its significant growth potential.
